Is There Even Such a Thing As A Perfect Bra?

The other day, a woman came here for a breast form fitting.
When that happens, we obviously have to find the correct breast form for her, but we also have to find the perfect bra for her, because as anyone who wears a breast form knows, the bra is as important to a woman’s future comfort as is her breast form.
(You may well have a perfect breast form but if it’s in the wrong bra, it will become a nightmare of discomfort!).
She tried on one of the Intimo bras I have here and loved it!
So we ordered that particular bra in a 40C size which I thought might be a tad too big.
(Most bra brands do not make many B cup bras here in Australia, as the average bust size now is 36DD and they make what sells most).
And it was, drat it!
Then I thought, just sew in a dart on each cup!
Now, this sounds completely obvious, but it had actually never occurred to me to do this…
My client agreed to my little experiment, and I pinned then sewed the darts into the outside of the lacey fabric of each cup.
And it was a brilliant success!
(I can’t believe that I haven’t done this before).
It ended up becoming a customised bra, because a breast form is usually slightly smaller than a real breast and this bra accommodated the slightly different sizes required.
She’s really happy with the result, but not as happy as me!
